Julian Moreen: The Mark is a collective of European and Asian musicians influenced by jazz, folk and world music. It is named after the debut album of German singer-songwriter and pianist Julian Moreen.

The collective has been on two Asia tours in 2018 and 2019 with festival and club performances in Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. In 2022, it performed at the renowned Jazz Open Festival as opening band for British R&B singers Jorjia Smith and Celeste and American folk pop legend Suzanne Vega.

For this year, the core of this collective is coming together for a third tour of Asia:
From New York, guitarist Andrew Cheng, who is the regular session player for the Indian Carnatic singer RINI as well as music director for the American tours of various Hong Kongese and Taiwanese singers such as 鄭俊弘 Fred Cheng, 蘇永康 William So and 何雁詩 Stephanie Ho, 尤雅 You Ya and 萬芳 Wan Fang.

From Japan, world percussionist Kan Yanabe, who has collaborated with Michael League and Bill Lawrence of Snarky Puppy and recorded on Alain Mallet’s Grammy-nominated album from 2020.

From Germany, the collectives leader, singer and pianist Julian Moreen, who has been working with many Taiwanese pop and jazz musicians over the last few years as a producer, songwriter and sideman.

From Taiwan, drummer Tzu-Yu “Fish” Huang and bassist Yu-Jia Liu, two of the most in-demand musicians in the Taiwanese and Asian music scene.
