After winning the "Best Album Award" in the instrumental category at the Golden Melody Awards in 2016, jazz saxophonist Shawna Yang further deepened her collaboration with international musicians and engaged with audiences overseas. This included gathering jazz musicians from Taipei and Tokyo, and embarking on expeditionary tours across several cities in Japan. These musicians were: Yasukagawa Daiki, a prominent bass player of the middle generation of musicians in Japan; drummer Sakamoto Takeshi, who resides in New York/ Taiwan/ China; and jazz pianist Tanaka Naoko, who has garnered much attention in recent years.

In 2022, Shawna Yang compiled live recordings of the four band members' performance at the Yilan Performing Arts Center from several years ago and released the CD album "For Papa: Shawna Yang Quartet Live at Yilan," which was once again nominated for the Golden Melody Awards.

Kondo Kazuhiko

Kazuhiko Kondo, born in 1964 in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. He has played with renowned musicians such as Toshiko Akiyoshi, Sadao Watanabe, Toshiyuki Miyama, Naoya Matsuoka, Tatsuya Takahashi, Himiko Kikuchi, Shigeharu Mukai, Masahiro Sayama, and participated in bands including the Tropical Jazz Orchestra and the Tokyo Blue Note All Star Big Band. Currently, he is active both domestically and internationally with his own group, as well as with groups led by Makoto Ozone, Sadao Watanabe, Junko Moriya, and others. He has studied under Phil Woods and Dick Oatts and is a lecturer in the jazz course at Showa Music University. In 2009, he released his leader album "SUBSTANCE".
